Conclusion Tester 2 on the Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro vs. the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S: The lightweights among the large touring enduros compete in a duel, although of course this term should not be taken too literally. The two weigh in at around 250 kg each. All the more surprising, then, how playfully the Tiger and Super Adventure can be moved.
I don't own either, but I've ridden both. I will be putting a deposit down on an 1190 R tomorrow. I wasn't impressed with the fit and finish of the BMW 800. The 1200 is a different story, but I think the 1190 beats the 800 in that respect. The 800 does feel light, but the KTM feels just as light. In fact, I think it is as light.

I went from a 2015 1290 SAT with 18,000 miles to the 890 R. 30% of those miles were off road. I’ve always been a big bike, high horsepower, Performance, sport bike rider. The first week of ownership on the 890 R: the first 600 miles were in the Santa Monica and San Diego mountains riding twisties. The next 1500 miles were in Baja, 50% off Road.
